Dong Nai 3 plant powers up

The first 90 MW turbine of the Dong Nai 3 Hydroelectric plant was put into operation Friday, Janaury, 07 2011

 
The plant's remaining turbine, which also have the capacity of 90 MW, is scheduled to operate in by the first quarter this year.

Once all of them become operational, the plant, based in the Central Highlands Dak Nong Province, will generate 600 million kWh of power for the national grid each year.

The construction of Dong Nai 3 Hydroelectric Power project began in 2004 with the total investment of VND5.67 trillion (US$290 million).
